Infinite Sound School of Guitar Health Policies

Purpose of this policy:

This policy has been developed in response to the government guidelines for working within an educational setting. Our intent is to minimise the exposure of our community to pandemic diseases. This policy will outline the strategies Infinite Sound School of Guitar will take to prevent transmission of infectious diseases, particularly to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Statement of General Policy – COVID-19

Infinite Sound School of Guitar teachers will ensure that they abide by the COVID-19 policies and procedures of each individual school.

Regular Updates to Health Policies

Infinite Sound School of Guitar will adhere to current best practice recommendations from the Australian Government, particularly the Department of Health and the Department of Education. This policy will be regularly updated to reflect changes resulting from government announcements.

Cold and Flu Symptoms

If our guitar teachers have any cold or flu like symptoms, they will not attend any school. Prior contact will be made to rearrange or reschedule the booked lessons. Rearranging lessons may involve the use of online learning material and after-hours Zoom Meetings. Alternatively, a replacement teacher will be provided to conduct the lessons at school and we will advise any changes prior to the scheduled session.

Strict Hygiene Protocol

IMPORTANT: Students should bring their own guitars, books and picks to lessons. Spare equipment will remain available and will be cleaned between each session.

Guitar teachers will adhere to our strict hygiene protocol:

• Wash hands with soap if facilities are available, before attending a school. If no facilities are available for handwashing, teachers will have hand sanitiser to use.
• Wash hands with soap or hand sanitiser between each lesson.
• Wash hands with soap or hand sanitiserupon leaving a school.
• Wash and disinfect all shared equipment and resources before attending a school.
• Spray to disinfect all shared equipment and resources between lessons such as sheet music stands, spare book covers, spare picks and spare guitars.
• Minimise the use of any shared equipment and resources. Adhere to the COVID-10 hygiene policies and procedures of each individual school.

Ongoing Vigilance

Infinite Sound teachers have downloaded and will continue to use the COVID Safe App, and if any risk is identified via the app or any other circumstances, are committed to accessing COVID testing if necessary.

Adherence to Physical Distancing Guidelines

• We will apply safe physical distancing within schools. Teachers will continue to have zero physical contact with students and staff.
• We will avoid gathering and congregating in areas where it is deemed inappropriate.
• We will adhere to the COVID-19 distancing and gathering policies and procedures of each individual school.

Infinite Sound School of Guitar Lesson Policies

Guitar Lessons

Lessons are held weekly during the school year commencing Week 2 of Term 1 and finishing on the 2nd last week of Term 4. No lessons are held on Week 1 of Term 1 or the last week of Term 4.

Use of Online Material

Infinite Sound implements the use of the internet to improve the quality of its guitar program. This includes but is not limited to learning material on the website infinitesound.com.au, links to downloadable printable PDF Song Sheets and video guitar lessons on YouTube and Vimeo. Infinite Sound’s online content is designed for children’s educational purposes. It is the responsibility of parents to manage their child’s usage of the internet and access to Infinite Sound’s online material.

Enrolment Change/Cancellation

Enrolment contracts will roll over into the next term and/or year as it is assumed that the student is continuing lessons. Unless otherwise notified, students will be assumed to be continuing lessons and will be invoiced for the following term 2 — 3 weeks prior to due payment.

Holiday Schedule

We do not give lessons on public holidays.

Missed Lessons

There are no refunds for missing lessons (sick days, excursions, camps, sports days, curriculum days). The teacher must be paid the same amount whether 1 or more students show up for the lesson. If students are unable to attend school their lesson may be offered remotely.

Late Arrivals

Students arriving late will not have their lesson time extended. This backs up the entire schedule and presents scheduling problems. Replacement lessons are not available for late arrivals.

No Shows

Any cancellation/missed lesson is considered a no show. If a student does not show up for a lesson, for any reason, there are no refunds or credits. Make-up lessons are not offered at school, however students may be able to do their lessons remotely if they are unable to attend school.

Make-up Lessons/Credited lessons

Credits or make-up lessons are not offered at school for missed lessons. Students may be offered remote lessons if circumstances prevent them from attending school (example - having to isolate due to Covid-19)

Refunds

A full refund may be offered to new students who wish to discontinue with Infinite Sound after their first or second lesson. No refunds are offered after participation in more than two lessons.

Accidental Instrument Damage

Students and their families will be responsible for the repair or replacement of their instrument if accidentally damaged. Infinite Sound will ensure instruments are kept safe as best as possible.

Teacher absence

If a lesson is cancelled due to the unavailability of the teacher, then students and/or parents will be notified and the lesson rescheduled. Infinite Sound has the right to use substitute guitar teachers and will notify students and/or parents if this instance will occur.

Care of Students

Infinite Sound is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students.

Child photo/video consent form

I give Infinite Sound School of Guitar permission to take and use any photos or moving pictures through the course of classes to use for promotional purposes without laying claim to royalties or rights etc. This might include (but is not limited to) the right to use them in Infinite Sound School of Guitar’s printed and online publicity, and social media.

2024 Fee Structure

Lesson fees in 2024 will be charged as a quarterly subscription of $210, with preference for an automatic debit from a nominated bank account.

Payments are due on the 7th February, 7th May, 7th August and 7th November.

Automatic debits can be setup when the first invoice is received. There is a 'setup autopay' box you can tick if you choose to pay with this method.

The fees are GST inclusive and cover ongoing expenses:

• Hiring a fill-in Guitar Teacher.
• Hiring the use of a Website Developer, Video Editor and Graphic Designer.
• The fee of running an automated payment system through Stripe.
• Room hire at each school, public liability insurance, business management systems used for invoicing, emailing, website and video hosting.

Student Wookbooks

There is an initial cost of $30 for a student workbook of learning material. Once that book is complete an additional $30 will cover the next workbook. It usually takes about a year to get through each book.

Sheet music and lessons are also available in an online format and links to these can be provided to parents.
